Diagnostic waxups are used by both the patient and Dr. Koeppel to "design" the overall cosmetic result desired by the patient.Once the diagnostic waxup is deemed perfect, or close to it, by the patient.... the waxups become the template for creating temporary veneers that the patient will wear for several days to perhaps a few weeks. During this try-in phase, the patient evaluates the fit, comfort, feel and overall cosmetic result that includes tooth sizing and color shading. In the event an adjustment is needed, the temporaries are created a second time, with the new modifications specified by the patient. Final fabrication does not occur until the temporaries are exactly what the patient wants.
